WordPress 3.3 – Should Your Upgrade?

As most of us are aware, WordPress 3.3 was recently released. Should we be upgrading our WordPress platforms? The short answer is yes – But not just yet.

Personally I’ve found there are some compatibility issues with plugins (particularly jQuery related). As well as some reported, slow performance issues, in the following benchmark tests, completed on DevPress.

Some people have already upgraded – But I don’t recommend that as some issues have resulted in plugins failing to work, or (as I’ve experienced) the W3 Total Cache Plugin not properly working.

Bottom line…

Please do not upgrade your WordPress versions yet, unless you’ve completed testing and are able to handle your own potential support requests. I will automatically update all client sites to the new version, once the existing issues have been cleared up.
